Keiko Maruyama’s 1977 album Harushigure (春しぐれ), has reliably nostalgic vibes with some weirdo instrumentation like on track 2 which features (I think?) theremin or at least a real bendy moog overlaid onto some baroque tremelo guitar. Sounds like a bizarre cosmic romance. Love it.
She worked together with a range of musicians including Chuei Yoshikawa, Hiroshi Sato, and Jun Sato on this, so you’ve got a pretty wide range of sounds to explore, too, making it worth a spin every once in a while to discover new aspects depending on your frame of mind.
